Reaching Butterfly Valley from Fethiye

The sea route is the most popular option. Boats depart regularly from the ports of Fethiye and Ölüdeniz between May and October, with departures usually scheduled for around 10 a.m. The journey takes about 45 minutes from Ölüdeniz and an hour and a half from Fethiye.
Prices start at €30 depending on the package chosen. Some excursions include several stops in the surrounding bays. The return trip usually takes place in the late afternoon.

For experienced hikers, a trail connects Ölüdeniz to Butterfly Valley along the cliff tops. This demanding walk requires 2 to 3 hours of sustained effort, with technical sections and a particularly challenging final descent of several hundred steps. This hike should be undertaken with sturdy walking shoes, sufficient water and appropriate physical fitness. However, the trail offers exceptional views of the Lycian coast and allows you to fully appreciate the majesty of the site before descending.

The more adventurous can explore the trails that climb up along the stream to the waterfalls, offering total immersion in the Mediterranean vegetation where pine trees, wild olive trees and oleanders thrive in the shelter of the cliffs.
The small café at the bottom of the valley offers simple but tasty food, including kebabs, fresh salads and seasonal fruit. This rudimentary establishment operates on a cash-only basis and allows you to eat without leaving this secluded paradise.
Combined boat trips often allow you to discover other gems of the coast on the same trip, including Aquarium Bay with its crystal-clear waters, the famous Blue Lagoon of Ölüdeniz, and the cave of Saint Nicholas.
