Dalaman, the airport for Fethiye
Dalaman Airport (DLM) is the closest airport to Fethiye: about 45 to 50 km by road, or 45 minutes to an hour by car. It handled about 5.6 million passengers in 2024, and its passenger terminal opened in 2018. Flights run all year, with fewer in winter: Jet2 and easyJet, for instance, both list flights to Dalaman in November 2026.
From the airport, you have three ways into town:
- Shuttle bus: Havaş and MUTTAŞ coaches run to Fethiye bus station, the otogar, in about an hour, for around ₺300 per person in 2026. They stop at the bus station, not at hotels.
- Taxi: the airport taxi cooperative charges about ₺3,000 per car to central Fethiye.
- Private transfer: about €45 to €55 per vehicle, booked in advance, to your door.
The shuttle is by far the cheapest for one or two people; for a family or a late arrival, a transfer or a taxi saves the change at the bus station. For the details of each option, see our guide on how to get from Dalaman to Fethiye.
Antalya, the alternative
Antalya Airport (AYT) is about 200 km from Fethiye by the inland road, around three hours by car, and about 290 to 300 km along the coast road through Kaş and Kalkan, some five hours of driving. Antalya has far more flights, so it is worth a look when there is no direct flight to Dalaman or the fare is much lower.
The catch is the journey. We found no direct shuttle from Antalya Airport to Fethiye: you take city bus 600 to Antalya bus station, about an hour, then a Pamukkale or Kamil Koç coach to Fethiye, about 2 hours 45 to 3 hours 20, from around ₺400 to ₺600. A private transfer starts at about US$186 per vehicle and takes around 3 hours 40.
If you have a few days, the coast road turns the journey into part of the trip, with a night in Kaş on the way. For buses, the coast road and transfers, see our guide on how to get from Antalya to Fethiye.
How to choose
Fly into Dalaman whenever you can: the transfer is short, cheap by shuttle and simple by taxi, and you reach Fethiye on the day you land, even on a late flight. Choose Antalya only if the saving on the flight covers the extra half day of travel and the cost of the bus or the transfer, or if you plan to drive the coast.
