The addresses below are grouped by place: Fethiye town first, then Oludeniz. Which one you pick depends mostly on where you are staying, as the two are a dolmuş, the local minibus, or a taxi ride apart.
In Fethiye
Most of the addresses below are in and around Paspatur, the old town of pedestrian lanes just behind the harbour, with the fish market next to it.
The Duck Pond
In the bazaar, The Duck Pond serves breakfast and brunch as well as lunch and dinner, with Turkish, Mediterranean and European dishes. It is an easy first stop of the day before a walk through the old town.
Paşa Kebap
On Çarşı Caddesi, the main street of the bazaar, Paşa Kebap is the address for kebabs: a quick, simple lunch between two walks in the old town.
Mozaik Bahçe
Near the bazaar, Mozaik Bahçe cooks the dishes of Hatay, in southern Turkey, rather than the usual coastal menu. Look for belen tava, the house kebab and a mixed plate of meze, the small cold and hot starters that open most Turkish meals. Order several meze to share before choosing a main course.
The fish market
Fethiye's fish market, the Balık Pazarı, works differently from a restaurant. You choose your fish or seafood at one of the stalls in the middle, pay for it there, then take it to one of the restaurants around the market, which cook it for an extra charge. Hilmi Restaurant, on Belediye Caddesi, and Oztoklu Restaurant are two of the restaurants that cook fish from the market.
The charge varies a great deal from one source to another, per person or per dish, with or without bread, salad and meze. Ask what the cooking charge includes before you hand over your fish, and agree on the price of any extra dish.
In Oludeniz
In Oludeniz, the restaurants line the beach of Belcekız and the streets just behind it. Many places in the resort close in winter, so check that a restaurant is open before you go outside the summer season. For the lagoon, the beach and the rest of the resort, see our guide to Oludeniz.
Jade Terrace Food & Drink
Near the lagoon, Jade Terrace has a terrace facing Belcekız beach, open for lunch and dinner. The menu leans Mediterranean, with fish and seafood, cocktails and desserts. Book a table on the terrace for the evening.
The Kumsal Restaurant
On the promenade, facing Oludeniz beach, The Kumsal is a restaurant and hotel serving pide, the Turkish flatbread baked with toppings, along with Turkish and Mediterranean dishes, from breakfast to dinner, from around 8am until late. It is the most convenient table if you spend the day on the beach.
